This Election - America's Fight For Itself.

Whichever way you look at it - this year's U.S Presidential election is very, very important. It will finally be decided, as to which way the US wants to go. The very existence of TV channels like Fox News is especially disturbing, the way they act as bullies and try to steam roll anybody who doesn't agree with their point of view. It is also sinister, and you cannot but think there's somebody behind the channel who's pulling all these strings. If it's Rupert Murdoch, I think he's probably the most dangerous person on earth currently. I'm not sure what he's trying to do, but if the American public fall for this neo-con bullshit, they will lose themselves and their country's standing forever.

What is also disturbing is that there is so little civil disobedience about Iraq war - where's the anger that spewed out in the sixties and seventies about Vietnam war? Pretty much every American knows that the Iraq war is about oil. So are they morally corrupt enough to accept the human price that goes into it? Or have the news channels so thoroughly brainwashed them into believing that it's about terrorism? Whatever it might be, the Bush administration has been the worst thing to happen to America in a long time. It is time USA decides what kind of country it wants to be.

If they just continue to elect people like the current president, put up with dangerous tv channels like Fox News, they only need to remember what happened to the Roman Empire when it has corrupted itself so completely from inside.

What makes you think there is no civil disobedience? What makes you think made UK and Australia withdraw troops? Political pressure, incalculable amounts of human rights petitions. Rioting and marches are not always the only way of showing your dissent.

About the media bias, you are right! Rupert Murdoch sure needs to grow up.

Rioting and marches are one sure shot way of getting attention. If nobody's doing that, it means there aren't enough people who really care. You can petition all you want, but governments still can ignore them.

Protests are a way of getting attention in public, which is good, as it highlights the issue. It shows that regular people care. I don't see any wide-spread protests, peaceful or otherwise in US. Certainly not anywhere near the scale of 'Nam protests.

As for Rupert Murdoch, it's not just a matter of growing up - it's not a tabloid in his newspaper empire that I am talking about - but this is an entire new level of deviousness - pandering to the least common denominator in popular opinion.

The pig-headed, self-assured half-assery of Bill O'Reilly, for example. What he's doing is so dangerous - if allowed to run amok, they'll have a new Nazi state very soon for sure.

well, u cant blame the media for forming people's opinion...dont watch the o'Reilly show if you think wat he is doing is not right. Same goes for Murdoch tabloids.

Give Americans a break man!..they have enough to worry abt..i.e Recession, loss of jobs.. How do u protest when you are in no position too?
